Laura J. Hawley

Laura joined Allen & Company in May of 1983 after graduating from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. In 1986 Laura successfully completed the course work necessary to attain the designation of Certified Financial Planner from the College of Financial Planning. Laura, one of the youngest woman Financial Advisors at Allen & Company when she joined the firm, quickly put her skill and hunger for excellence to work benefiting her clients and helping Allen & Company set standards in the Financial Service field. Laura has been a driving force at Allen & Company for over 23 years and she was elected to the Board of Directors of Allen & Company in 2001. Currently, she serves as Chairperson of the Executive Committee. Laura holds Series 7, 65 and Series 24 licenses as well as Life, Health and Variable Annuities. Laura also holds a Real Estate license.

Laura’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence was cultivated by her close knit family while growing up in the northeast. She is driven when it comes to her commitment to the community. She utilizes her talent for numbers, skill at organizing and ability to motivate others as she serves her community through her work at numerous organizations throughout Polk County. As a recognized leader in the community Laura has served on the board at the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, Wheel House, Good Shepherd Hospice, Bethany Center the City of Lakeland Civil Service and Pension Boards to name a few. She graduated from the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lakeland class X and currently serves on the Leadership Lakeland Alumni Board. She is also a member of the National Institute of Certified Financial Planners. Laura was recognized by the New York Times and the Ledger as one of the 21 Women to Watch in 2005 as well as in 1999 as one of the 21 Leaders of the 21st Century.

Laura is dedicated to helping her clients set and achieve their financial goals in life. Laura’s strong desire to provide individuals with tools to help them gain their financial security led her to join forces with the national radio group Hall Communications to create the hit radio talk show Dollars & Sense in 1990. Dollars & Sense is heard weekly on WLKF TALK1430 on your AM dial. Thousands of people across Florida tune in weekly to get their questions answered as Laura interviews both national and local guests. The interactive live show is topic driven and explores hard-hitting issues related to money and the economy. Laura’s professional life is full and quite rewarding but her greatest pleasure is spending time with her husband Kelly, her family and her community friends.
